
Master artist Kerry Roy began TaeKwonDo training in 1983 in Gretna, La with his instructor, GrandMaster Art Monroe. Roy acquired Black Belt in 1985, and became a certified Instructor in 1987.
Mr. Roy opened TaeKwonDo Plus in 1995 in the Carrollwood community in Tampa.
Roy also teaches Tactical Short Stick, a practical and field-expediant method of using a stick, or stick-like object for self-defense.
Kerry has also trained in JuJuitsu, Kickboxing, Brazillian Grappling and Cane Masters.
In addition to teaching TaeKwonDo, Mr. Roy is also a
Tactical Master Instructor in
CDT non-deadly force training. CDT is a liability-conscience personal protection method taught to people from all walks of life including Professionals, Students, Law Enforcement personell, Security professionals, and Housewives.
Mr. Roy acquired other certifications from the Tom Patire Group including:
LRT (last resort tactics) and he teaches Weapon Disarm courses, and Tactical Control. Master Roy also has
Executive Protection Specialist training which includes: Advance Work, CDT Non-Deadly Force Tactics, Close Quarter Protection, Tactical Handgun, Threat Management, Principles of Protection, Basic and Advanced Formations, Bomb Threat and Management, Executive Protocol, and Medical Emergency First Responder. Sammy Rodriguez first attained black belt on 7/23/05 and has been a second degree black belt since 11/10/07
Sammy is an assistant Trainee Instructor here at TaeKwonDo Plus and he also teaches private lessons regularly.
Grand Champion in 2006 as he won first place in his division at every ITA tournament that year, Mr. Rodriguez is known for his outstanding sparring ability along with sharp technique and form.
